Astra's soft polyurethane foam seat combined with the back support mesh has been designed to provide an excellent balance between comfort and dynamic back thrust. The mesh used for the backrest confers breathability by promoting heat dissipation, while the soft fibers used for the upholstery convey safety and comfort to the touch. The frame that joins together Astra's seat and back has been carefully designed to work in synergy with the mesh, providing constant and dynamic support to the back, including efficient support for the upper back, a wraparound lumbar profile and a unique self-weighting mechanism that flexes the seat forward in relation to how much the backrest inclines.

In creating Astra, Leyform has completely rethought the idea of the work chair, connecting seat, backrest and armrests in a single element in recyclable polypropylene with a slender and structurally refined style, managing to subtract material and volume from the chair without compromising stability and manageability; the result was an adjustable armchair for co-working areas and meetings with a high technological and performance content. The personality of Astra is best expressed in the low weight (just 12.5 kg), the flexibility of the seat and back, the high quality of the materials used and the innovative design; this results from the integration of the mechanism inside the seat, when in most of the seats on the market it is present under it.
